On June 15, Sergio Giangregorio, the Secretary General of the CEUQ – Public Officials met with some of the CFTD leaders of the French Public Officials Union in Nice to discuss about the situation of Italian workers employed on the Italian territory by foreign embassies and legations.
“These are high-level professionals, no contract rights are recognized, if Italy has decided to abandon this category of workers to old rules, it will have to be Europe to take over.”
The meeting follows a series of contacts that the Italian trade unionist has taken in Europe with colleagues from European trade union organizations to create useful synergies for solutions to emerging problems.
“It is necessary”, Giangregorio said, “that the Italian Government recognizes to the employees of the embassies all the contractual rights provided in Italy and a fair taxation, we will fight to achieve this goal”
